Sculpture
This sculpture is created using glazed ceramic and porcelain, inspired by the mysterious and captivating world beneath the water's surface. My father, a microbiologist, greatly influenced my work. As a child, he would take me on short field trips every Saturday to explore the mountains, rivers, and sometimes even his lab. Through these experiences, he taught me the vital importance of clean water for all life on Earth. This sculpture embodies my fascination with the unseen ecosystems that thrive underwater, and reflects my father's lessons about the delicate balance of life that clean water sustains.
The Ikebana series is inspired by Japanese traditional arts, Flower arrangement. It features a captivating installation of ceramic, white stone clay and porcelain objects. Those were fired 2 times, bisque and glaze. Imitation grass, shells, colored sticks, colored sands were designed to create a Zen garden aesthetic, evoking a sense of tranquility and inner peace. This is a new art form capturing the essence of Ikebana's refined harmonious balance.
